Camera-Wearing Cleaners Gather Home Data in New York
An artificial intelligence startup called Micro AGI is offering free home cleaning in New York under its Shift project. In return, workers wearing cap-mounted cameras record the apartments to gather data. The company's founder, Bercan Kilic, plans to use this video material to train future household robots. However, digital privacy advocates warn that consumers are trading their personal privacy for a free service, which could lead to surveillance pricing and other security risks.
