Direct vs indirect speech: say/tell + clause

Structure:

decir que + indicative (direct → indirect)

In reported speech, present becomes imperfect and preterite becomes pluperfect.

Example:

Dijo: 'Estoy cansado.' → Dijo que estaba cansado. **Translation:** He said: 'I am tired.' → He said he was tired.

Examples
