Negation with articles: de/d' after ne...pas

Structure:

un/une/des/du/de la → de (d') after negation

After ne...pas, indefinite and partitive articles change to de (d' before vowel). Le/la/les do NOT change.

Example:

J'ai un frère. → Je n'ai pas de frère. Je bois du lait. → Je ne bois pas de lait. **Translation:** I have a brother. → I don't have a brother. I drink milk. → I don't drink milk.

Examples

J'ai un frère.

I have a brother.

→ Je n'ai pas de frère.

→ I don't have a brother.

Je bois du lait.

I drink milk.

→ Je ne bois pas de lait.

→ I don't drink milk.
