Elision: dropping vowel before vowel/h
Elision: dropping vowel before vowel/h
Structure:
le/la/je/me/te/se/ne/que/de → l'/j'/m'/t'/s'/n'/qu'/d' before vowel or mute h
Elision is mandatory, not optional. H aspiré (le hibou, not l'hibou) does not trigger elision — must be memorized.
Example:
l'ami, j'aime, m'appelle, qu'est-ce que, d'accord, n'est-ce pas **Translation:** the friend, I like, my name is (calls me), what is it, agreed, isn't it?
