Direct object pronouns in passé composé: agreement

Structure:

subject + (ne) + avoir + (pas) + past participle agreeing with preceding direct object

When a direct object pronoun precedes avoir in the passé composé, the past participle agrees in gender and number with that pronoun.

Example:

La lettre ? Je l'ai écrite hier. **Translation:** The letter? I wrote it yesterday.
