Structure:

irregular adverb in place of adjective + -ment

Vite does not come from an adjective. Bien/mal are adverbs related to bon/mauvais.

Example:

Il travaille bien mais parle mal. Il court vite. **Translation:** He works well but speaks badly. He runs fast.
