Structure:

modal/auxiliary-like verb + infinitive (no preposition)

Verbs that take a direct infinitive: aimer, vouloir, pouvoir, devoir, aller, venir de, savoir, préférer, laisser, voir, entendre.

Example:

Je veux partir. Tu peux venir. Elle doit travailler. Nous allons manger. **Translation:** I want to leave. You can come. She must work. We are going to eat.
